Push Rod Tubes and Seals

Push Rod Tubes and Seals

Individual Push Rod Tube Seals, Set of 16 These seals go around the push rod tubes. On Bugs and Buses up to 1971, the heads have to come off to replace the seals. We highly recommend you replace the tubes at this time as well. If you don't they will usually leak even though you have new seals. One car requires 16 seals. We sell the seals separately or as a set of 16.

These push rod seals fit the following cars:

VW Beetle and VW Super Beetle 1961-1979
VW Karmann Ghia 1961-1974
VW Type 3 1962-1973
VW Thing 1973-1974

These replace the stock Push Rods that often get torn up
from excessive flexing due to high RPMs or too much spring pressure.
Each engine has 8 of these.

We highly recommend that you replace these whenever you pull the heads off a 1300 through a 1600 engine. The stock tubes have a crush built into each end. If you try to stretch the old ones they will revert back to where they were crushed when they heat up. Most likely, they'll also leak. One car requires 8 tubes.
