NOTE: IF YOU HAVE A '72 STANDARD BEETLE:
THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT GAS CAPS:
In 1972, VW changed the gas cap opening in Standard Beetles.
Please order the internal catch base type of gas cap
(which does not thread into place) if you have an early 1972.
The last chassis number for the early type, in 1972, is 1122427792.
Above that chassis number, order the screw in gas cap.
